The Twin Oaks Communities Conference is excited to announce that, in cooperation with the Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC) we’re bringing back the Saturday evening Charity Auction to the Twin Oaks Communities Conference!
In the ’00s and early 2010s, the fast-paced, high-energy benefit auction was one of the high points of the TOCC. In the years since, it fell off the schedule due to staffing changes and general personal availability changes. When the FIC and Communities Conference teams began collaborating earlier this year to plan the 2024 Convergence of Intentional Communities we discussed starting it up again, and when the fire happened in March 2024 it turned from a “maybe” to a “definitely”.
Proceeds will help the FIC continue to bring the exciting news of community to a world hungry for it, and help Twin Oaks rebuild from the March 2024 fire that destroyed the conference site.
You can help in one of two ways (or both!):
- Bring items to donate to the auction — Products, crafts, or services that can be delivered locally or via phone or mail, a weekend stay for two at your luxurious home, a community tour, a gift certificate for a great bookclub… Use your imagination!
- Come ready to take part in the bidding — There’s bound to be a treasure or two that will inspire you to jump in, and it’s great fun! Best of all, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that every dollar spent will be used to build community here at Twin Oaks and across the globe.
