For established or emerging workshop presenters, we’re still in search of presenters for the TOCC—and ticket fees are waived for presenters! Keep reading to learn more.

The 2025 Call for Presenters form is open now, and accepted presenters receive free admission to the Twin Oaks Communities Conference.

We are particularly interested in workshops about racial dynamics in community, restorative justice, economics of community living, and controversial topics within communities. Depending on the number of submissions and expected attendees at the conference, we will select between 15 and 25 workshops.

Please remember that curated workshops must be focused on intentional communities, and/or relate to one of our two major threads/themes for 2025. Our first theme is “Resistance and Resilience: Confronting Challenges, Cultivating Possibilities”. Our second theme is “Transforming Community Culture to support BIPOC and PGM Representation, Empowerment, and Long-Term Retention.”

Full details and info on how to apply are available in our 2025 Call for Presenters post, and the direct link to the 2025 Call for Presenters form is here.

Co-organized by the Twin Oaks Communities Conference and the Foundation for Intentional Community, the Convergence of ICs is more than a meeting—it’s a launchpad for mutually beneficial initiatives that strengthen our collective impact.

The secular intentional communities movement has long been fragmented. Groups with similar values and missions are working in isolation, with little mutual support unless they’re physically close to each other. The CIC aims to build relationships and cooperation between ICs, especially between communities with similar values but diverse approaches to living those values.

There is huge potential for this kind of collaboration. Members of two communities on opposite sides of the country might have similar aspirations to be more inclusive, or might face similar problems with conflict management. Stronger connections could help them work together and compare notes in the search for effective strategies. Members of one IC might even travel to the other for a few weeks or months to share knowledge and experience, perhaps as part of an ecovillage exchange program.
