Online ticket sales for both the conference and the convergence ended at 12 noon eastern on Thursday August 28. You are welcome to purchase tickets at the conference between 1 PM and 8 PM on Friday, between 8 AM and 2 PM on Saturday, or on Monday Sept 1 between 10am and 1pm if you’re only attending the convergence. Get ready to bid on 2025’s incredible auction items, and/or bring items to donate to be sold

As one of the Twin Oaks Community Conference events, we will be holding a fast-paced, high-energy benefit auction for the Foundation for Intentional Community and Twin Oaks Communities Conference. You can help in two ways: 1) Bring items to donate to the auction, and 2) come ready to take part in bidding (credit cards, cash, and digital forms such as Venmo and PayPal are all welcome). Have questions or need to arrange shipping or pickup of a donated item? Reach out to Kim@ic.org.

Twin Oaks Communities Conference Program and schedule are available now!

We’re excited to announce our full workshop list is available now! We expect to release the full program soon, with a full workshop & event list, workshop schedule, and more- it’s got everything you need to plan an incredible weekend. Please keep in mind this is our best estimate at this point and that things could change- presenters get sick, a family member needs help, a positive covid test, etc. The list of workshops is available on our workshops page here, and the program will be available on the program page soon! It is still possible to offer an Open Space workshop on Sunday, which can be on any topic you can present compellingly on that you believe there is interest in.

Rideshare forms and mass transit pickup requests

If you are coming from more than an hour away and have an extra seat in your vehicle, or if you are looking for a ride, please fill out our Ride Share form.  We can help you coordinate getting to the conference site from Charlottesville and Richmond, as well, if you are arriving by public transport, train, bus, or airplane.  Especially if you can offer a ride please call 540-299-3377.

Getting here

Registration opens at 1pm on Friday, August 29th. Do not come before Friday unless you’ve made special arrangements. You’re welcome to arrive earlier on Friday, and then register starting at 1pm.

The address you are coming to is 134 W Old Mountain Road, Louisa, VA 23093, and we encourage you to use our handy dandy Google Maps listing for the Twin Oaks Conference site. This will bring you to our Main Parking field. You’ll find greeters there with instructions about where to camp, where the indoor accommodations are located, and where you’ll find the Registration Tent at the Main Circle. If you have limited mobility you’ll be directed to a separate parking area. Have other questions? Check out the Logistics pages on our website for info on camping, kidcare, facilities, food, and more!

Arriving after dark? Pitch your tent in parking overnight.

Please try to arrive with enough time to set up your campsite in the daylight. If that isn’t possible and you have to arrive after dark, park in the well-marked late night parking area and set up your tent next to your vehicle.  You can move the car and tent in the morning.

Food Contributions

If you are not opting out of the food contribution by paying the $20 fee, please remember to bring snack food or dessert items to share. This can be fruit or juices, and things like crackers, chips, trail mixes, and pretzels; cookies, brownies, pies, and sweet breads are also great, or food that could be put out for meals with no effort on our cook’s part (think veggie tray with dip, hummus and pita, a great fruit salad, etc). Please bring around 3 bags, boxes, bottles, or containers of snack or juice items, or a few bunches or bags of fruit. Bring your contribution to the OZ kitchen. Twin Oaks will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Covid Protocols

As a reminder- all attendees must show proof of a negative covid test, with a sample taken less than 24 hours before arrival on site (at-home tests are fine). You can test in advance and send us your results via email to conference@twinoaks.org. If you are not able to test in advance, tests will also be available at the gate for $5 each (cash preferred, but checks, credit cards, and PayPal are also options).  If you test positive, we have to ask you (and your travel companions) to leave and thus strongly encourage people to take these tests while at home.

Free Table

When packing for coming to the Communities Conference, don’t forget to bring items for the “FREE TABLE”. The free table is a place where folks can offer up their pre-loved items to become somebody else’s treasure. In the past, people have brought art, CDs, jewelry, toiletries, clothing, books, and anything else you can imagine. Take part in the radical act of sharing by bringing some items that might be useful or of interest to other attendees –no exchange of money involved.
